Keyboard shortcuts

Every shortcut in Scenic Controller is also a menu item, so if you forget a key, find the command in the menu bar and the key is next to it. Help ▸ Keyboard Shortcuts (⌘/ or F1) lists the keys that work where you are. On an iPad with a keyboard, the same keys work unless the table says otherwise.

Clicker keys in the Player List

When the Player List has focus and you are not typing in a field, these single keys work without ⌘, so a presenter clicker or a Stream Deck sending keystrokes can drive the show:

KeyDoes
→ Space Page DownNext
← Page UpPrevious
Home / EndFirst slide / last slide
BBlackout the selected screens
RReveal the selected screens
KPlay or pause video
J / LSlower or step back / faster
MMute or unmute video
↑ ↓Move the selection
⇧↑ ⇧↓Extend the selection
⌥← / ⌥→Collapse or expand the selected group
⌘ASelect all screens
EscClear the selection

Holding a key down does not repeat a cue: holding → sends one Next, not twenty. Picture nudges (brightness and the like) do repeat while held.

⌘→ and ⌘← always cue, even while you are typing in a field.

Blackout and Reveal are separate commands, not a toggle, so pressing Blackout twice never brings a screen back by mistake. Whiteout is in Show ▸ Blackout and has no key.

Scenic Player on Windows

A Windows show PC is meant to be left alone, so it has only a few keys, all deliberately awkward to hit by accident:

CommandKey
Leave full screen (shows the Player window)Esc or Ctrl+Alt+Shift+F
Go back to full screenCtrl+Alt+Shift+F, or Enter Full Screen in the Player window
Quit Scenic PlayerCtrl+Alt+Shift+Q
